New Mercedes-Benz E-Class is launched

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, described as the pacemaker for safety, comfort and environmental compatibility in its market segment, was launched .
A unique combination of driver assistance systems makes the new E-Class special. A drowsiness detection system, adaptive high beam assist, and the proximity control system capable of performin
g automatic emergency braking when there is acute danger of a collision are among them.
“It is great to have a fantastic product in these difficult times and there are eager customers waiting for the new E-Class.
The new model as another milestone in the 130 year history of Mercedes Benz, the car has being launched with ‘quite a significant order bank.’
“The six and eight cylinder versions are being launched now and the four-cylinder E-Class will come in September.”
The car has intelligent ‘bodyshell’ technology with up to 30% greater rigidity, further improved seats and a newly developed suspension with shock absorbers automatically adjusting to the driving situation.
The four-and six-cylinder engines, direct-injection units, consume up to 23% less fuel than before. Along with the engines, the ‘Blue EFFICIENCY’ package for the E-Class is in large part responsible for the fuel savings.
The drag coefficient of only 0.25 makes the new E-Class the world’s most aerodynamically efficient luxury saloon.
The range of engines available for the new E-Class comprises four, six and eight-cylinder units with outputs from 136hp to 525hp.
Mercedes-Benz equips the Blue EFFICIENCY models E 200 CGI (184hp) and E 250 CGI (204hp) with the newly developed 1.8litre turbo-charged, four-cylinder direct petrol injection engine having variable intake and exhaust camshafts.
The E 200 CGI is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and the ECO start/stop function as standard, and consumes only 6.8litres of premium petrol per 100km.
The E 250 CGI Blue EFFICIENCY has a five-speed automatic transmission as standard, and fuel consumption is reduced by over 20% to 7.3litres per 100km.
Mercedes-Benz equips the V6 and V8-models as standard with a seven-speed automatic transmission, steering wheel selector lever and shift paddles. The new E-Class is the first car in the world to be equipped with headlamps which adapt to the traffic situation and respond automatically to avoid dazzling other drivers.
The new E-Class price starts from QR185,000.
