FORD FIESTA REVIEW
The Ford Fiesta, a compact luxury sedan is manufactured indigenously in India. Designed by the Ford Motor Company in Europe, it is also available in Mexico, China, Brazil, South Africa and Japan. This sedan is more spacious than others in its segment; its interior design makes maximum use of the additional width of the Fiesta's body structure, providing ample seating for five adults.
Its styling might not be as sporty or racy as the Ikon in the looks department, but it has its own intrinsic appeal and would probably find its niche among a more mature segment of car buyers. A car that sensitively and intuitively gets your measure, it handles like dynamite on the road. Reassuring and comfortable, the Fiesta exudes class and style.

Racing cars made of veggies and powered by chocolates.
- The racing car made of vegetables and powered by chocolates is targeted to hit a speed of 145miles per hour and is to be launched next month.
- The Warwick Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre has built a formula 3 car, running on 30% biodiesel derived from chocolate waste, with a race-spec steering wheel partly made of carrots and other root vegetables. Parts of the front wing and the mirrors are made of potato starch and flax fibre. No ginger bread or jelly beans were harmed in the making of the car. The car named ecoF3, has a steering wheel made of carrots, a body made of potatoes and a seat made of soyabeans.
- The car is not on the track yet, but the engine is running well on a dynometer and is planned to take it out for track testing in 2 weeks.
- The goal of the project, is to show what is possible. People love motor racing, and the trick is to do it in a more enviromentally responsible manner. A racing car does not have to harm the planet.

NISSAN MICRA
Nissan plans to launch their next generation small car model Nissan March in 2010, in India. The Nissan March would mark Nissan’s entry into the automatic passenger car market.
Shouhei Kimura, Nissan Motor India managing director said: “It will be launched in the ‘A´ segment category in India and will have 80% of localization.”
At this point, there is no information on the number of cars to be produced for India, or on the price of the Nissan March when it is launched here. As an A-segment car, the March would be competing against the Hyundai Santo, Chevrolet Spark, the Hyundai i10 etc in India.
This might be a good car alright in the A-segment - but somehow those faux-Beetle looks are not very convincing. The front treatment is European - shoddy European, in my opinion. The rest is tolerable. But like Renault did with the Logan, changing the front grill design of the Nissan March to suit Indian tastes would not be too difficult.
The Nissan March will be manufactured at Nissan’s plant in Oragadam. The Nissan March is one of the nine cars that Nissan plans to launch in the Indian market - the company already sells the Nissan X-Trail SUV in India. Renault Nissan will invest Rs.40 billion ($833 million) in the plant, that would have a capacity to manufacture 4,00,000 cars every year for local and overseas markets.
Kimura also said that the Nissan March would be included in the 110,000 units that would be exported by the second half of 2010, following the signing of an MOU with Ennore Port Ltd.
Nissan plans to scale up the number of units for export to 1,80,000, over the next few years.

2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S review
My early impressions about the 911 were that it will be very uncomfortable. I was proved wrong the minute I stepped in it. There is enough space to stretch your legs and keep them straight. This does hamper the rear seating which is absolutely useless. Porsche say that the back seats are meant for children but they aren’t fooling anyone here. I had problems getting my camera from the floor which was placed underneath the back seats. The front seating position was one of the best I have ever experienced with great visibility and tight grip on all ends. There can be no comparison for German quality and the materials used in the dashboard felt topnotch. Everything was ergonomically right. The overall interior design made me think that Porsche have genuinely thought about the overall layout balancing space and comfort (Forget the back seats though). The Carrera S comes with 6 airbags, CD-players, climate control, Porsche Stability Management as standard.
Thus, the 911 is a fantastic package, the Carrera S priced at just above $100,000s. It is a car bound by no age barrier. You can comfortably drive it on the streets or race it on a track like a maniac. In any case, it will make you happy.

HYUNDAI I10!!!
Shifting into the fifth cog, the i10 gets into cruise mode. At 120 kph and with the tacho needle nestling at 4500 rpm, the new compact from Hyundai is pretty keen on consuming the miles between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. The roads are relatively empty and smooth, while the integral 2-DIN stereo, for a factory-fitted unit, sounds pretty good too.
We are out in Rajasthan, evaluating and testing this ambitious model from Hyundai. Ambitious because it is only being produced in India for the rest of the world, and also because it has severe competition from a host of other cars, including Hyundai’s own Santro Xing and Getz Prime... well, it fits between the two, actually.
The car is clearly an upgrade over the Santro – to call it a 21st century version of the Santro in fact wouldn’t be out of place. Which means it’s safer, built even better and makes life comfortable within, for both the driver as well as all the passengers. And it is more mature when it comes to driving dynamics too.
The needle, in between my meandering, has meanwhile steadily risen upward to 140 kph. I have the highway to myself, so I can take a look around the dash of the i10.

RENAULT LOGAN
I absolutely had no problems while driving alone for 725 KMs in just 11 hours, lumber support and my genuine leather seats provided me much support to overcome back problems.
Cars was firm, steady & nicely balanced even at the speed of 150 and trust me on highways you will get amazed when you will see your speedometer at 100 with no real efforts.
Its 172mm ground clearance makes it very comfortable at bumpy Indian roads and poorly visible humps with its strong shock absorbers.
Visibility in Logan is excellent, slightly vertically straight windshield than others give you perfect view of what’s happening in front of you, especially for ladies who are not taller. You will have full view of your front, left & right. Rear mirrors gives you perfect picture of rear side. There is no obstacle looking here and there.

FIAT 500
This new Fiat 500 makes you pleased that the Italian company didn’t go the way of Rover. A glance at it has you smiling – this is an old friend in modern wrapping. You will be amused by the reappearance of the circular headlamps that created the earnest little face of its predecessor, and the Mona Lisa-like smile suggested by the chrome strip on its nose. There are retro references inside too, including a circular instrument pod and a body-coloured dashboard.

CHEVROLET SPARK
General Motors storms into the global auto market with Spark and sizzle. The Chevrolet Spark emerges as a strong contender in the small cars segment, facing heavyweights like Maruti Suzuki (in countries like India). The original Daewoo Matiz comes to the subcontinent as Chevrolet Spark, with an undisguised objective of capturing a lion’s share in the small cars segment. In the words of Mr. Rajeev Chaba (GM India President and MD), “The Chevrolet Spark is the world’s newest-generation compact city car. It sets a new standard for its segment through its modem design, clever space utilization, affordability and solid engineering.”
The compact style-on-wheels car has a welcoming exterior design with emphasized head lamps and tail lamps, a solid bumper, rear spoiler and sharp shoulder lines with a V-shaped design completing the effect. A tough stance and a smiling profile complement each other in harmony. Overall, the car has a stunning 3D look and friendly appeal. Interiors are equally impressive, with ergonomically designed control panel and cozy seating materials. Add to that some cool convenience features and storage room and you get a comfortable city car.

Maruti SWIFT
Maruti Swift is the most smart and handsome looking hatchback at present in India, offers very good equipment leveles and safety like airbags and ABS in top models, overall its very good option for zen and wagon R owners to upgrade to swift but it lacks boot space and also interiors are not comfortable. Suzuki’s popular small car, the Suzuki Swift has been awarded “Most Fun to Drive” at the annual Japanese Car Of The Year awards for 2005-2006.

MARUTI ZEN ESTILO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though the car is bit taller than the old Zen but it is smaller when compared to Wagon R but that certainly doesn’t translate into lower headroom for the driver….
There is a lot of dashboard space as mentioned earlier and the high mounted seats are comfortable enough for a long ride.
The EPS(Electronic Power Steering) is good but not excellent and leaves more to be desired.
The gear ratios are pretty good for a car in this segment..I managed to get it upto 40kmph in first gear and 80kmph in the second…The rest is pretty obvious!
So new Zen lives up to the saying “Changes are always meant for the good” and it certainly has all the ingredients to make it a tough competitor to the Wagon R and Santro Xing.

AUDI Q7
As you'd expect, torque is the star of the diesel Q7's show. More than 400 lb-ft of torque at a lazy 2000 rpm combines with ultrashort gearing to help launch the Q7 with authority. At first, you'd almost think that the Q7 uses a permanent low-range transfer case, because the six-speed automatic transmission has to click all the way to fourth gear just to accelerate beyond 60 mph. Why does the diesel Audi use such short transmission ratios? Because it's one heavy family hauler. At some 5100 pounds, it's more than 100 pounds heavier than a similarly equipped Q7 with Audi's 4.2-liter gasoline V-8. The rest of the German-spec Q7 3.0 TDI's driving experience is virtually identical to that of other Q7 models. The interior is gorgeous, although third-row seating is not nearly as spacious as the Mercedes GL's. Body control is impressive, but the price you pay is a brittle ride at low speeds; our test vehicle's twenty-inch wheels only exacerbated that situation. The Q7's diesel engine isn't as smooth or as quiet as the Mercedes diesel, either, and the Q7 is cursed with a poorly calibrated, nonlinear accelerator pedal (as are many other Audis). This isn't helped by a turbocharger that's slow to awake from a dead stop. The good news is that U.S.-bound Q7 TDIs will be fitted with a slightly different turbo, resulting in an estimated power decrease of 20 hp but, according to Audi, a large improvement in off-the-line behavior and no loss of torque. Diesel SUVs such as the Q7 promise more than fuel economy. Their low-revving, high-torque engines are the perfect match for heavy SUVs. With Audi, BMW, and VW joining Mercedes, it looks like reports of the SUV's death have been greatly exaggerated.

Tips to tune up your dream car
- It is easy to buy a car but the difficult part of maintaining or taking care of it follows later. What many of us do is wait for the car to smoke, fume and stop and then only we start to think of its maintenanace. Think a while "Is prevention not better than cure?" I am putting dowm my experience as to how to maintain a car for better performance.
- First of all go through the owner's manual provided with the vehicle. Strictly adhere to the maintenance schedule and other instructions provided therein. Inspect your car whenever you enter it or at regular intervals.
- Clean the carpets and dry them up at regular intervals. This can prevent the corossion of the car body and bad odour.
- Check the batteries at periodical intervals and get them overhauled as and when required.
- See to it that the engine oil is refilled at least once in a year.
- Check the fuel tank at regular intervals for any leaks.
- Check the dynamo or alternator at periodical intervals.
- Check the air pressure in the tyres and the brakes every time before you start the car.
- Get the shafts and the shafts, belts and bearings at interim periods expecially sounds arise while driving your car.
- Check the radiator and water levels before starting your car.
- Sometimes the driver can feel strange hiccups while driving which indicates faulty fuel injection or suspension.
- In addition to the above get an overhauling of the car atleast once in a year.
- I am hearing your murmur "a very costly affair." After all it is your dream car.
